Week 1 Reflection #GenerasiGIGIH by YABB
Yes, still in my journey as a data analyst participant for Bangsa Class. Let me tell you my stories here!
This is my 1st week in Bangsa Class during pandemic. As we know that some students are preparing for a return to offline learning but…. I’d love to say, I am beyond excited to be in this online class!
This week gives me a lot of perspective. I feel this week’s learning has improved to get to know better about Data Analyst especially in Gojek. There are 50 students in the class and we did a well-discussed discussion. The materials given are something unexpected for me because I just knew about Data Warehouse and how it goes in a company or organization. I find the experience helpful.
The most important thing I learned from this week is first, I could follow a strict class schedule according to my timetable. I’m always excited to be in. I can suggest others establishing a timetable in Excel or maybe Google Sheets and sticking to it as close as possible. It also trains me to be more discpline to stick to the timetable and not lose myself in unproductive activities, such as TV, YouTube and social media. Second, I learned how Data Analyst performs in daily and its end-to-end roles in a company. I know about trinity of skills a good data analyst should have: analytical skills, technical skills, and communication skills. Analytical skills are important for a data analyst because they need to be able to make analyses and interpret results. Technical skills are also very important, because a data analyst will constantly be acquiring and cleaning data. What may be surprising is that communication skills are also very valuable for a data analyst. It helps a data analyst and stakeholders understand the context of their situation. Third, I know the real study case of data analyst in a company. Yes, the facilitator is so knowledgeable for this program!
I’m still curious of data analyst roles especially for tech industry. I do not feel so confused with the introduction of data analyst in this week but I’m so excited for the next Bangsa class. I’m waiting to learn and study more about it!
